Pussy on AIDS de G.I., 2026, graphite et aquarelle sur tapisserie AIDS de General Idea, 33 x 25 cm
Animal on AIDS de G.I. is an ongoing research project I have been developing since 2017, in which I began using salvaged fragments of wallpaper originally produced by General Idea. The support itself is a remnant from the reconstruction of the Musée d’art de Joliette. Each fragment calls forth the memory of the wall and of the still-resounding work by one of the most significant Canadian artist collectives in the world. On these surfaces, I inscribe graphite drawings of animals whose names carry insulting connotations tied to expressions of sexuality, marking—like graffiti—the work of another.
