In 2010, I created a body of work entitled Get into My Car or Death to Poetry. In this project, car hoods are used as pictorial supports. Their presentation on the wall highlights their formal kinship with medieval knights’ shields, onto which I placed fictitious coats of arms representing various ideological motifs emblematic of the male universe. Responding ironically both to a glorification of masculinity and virility, the social power projected by the alpha male over his pack is reproduced here through the extension of the machine.
