Animal Farm is a frieze where animal silhouettes are illuminated with gold leaf on Russian cherrywood panels. This installation draws, directly from the novel of the same name written in 1945 by George Orwell, the metaphorical image of Soviet totalitarianism through a farm where pigs become dictators while referring to the prohibition of representation drawn from the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament. Through these iconoclastic representations where capital meets the sacred, the work approaches religious, political, and economic idolatry.
